Outreach

​Here at Bethany we are a small community with a big heart. We take seriously when scripture says that we are to clothe the naked, feed the hungry, and give drink to the thirsty. In doing so, we know we serve God and neighbor alike. (Matthew 25:31-40)

Every month Bethany lifts up a different organization, like the River Haven Homeless shelter in Portage, LSS, or The Humane Society, with our Monthly Outreach Program. A short list of upcoming organizations can be found below:

July: Lutheran Social Services (LSS) with guest speaker on July 28th
August: Lutheran Campus Ministries (LuMin)
September: Wartburg Theological Seminary with Rev. Blake Shipman preaching on September 22nd

More information about each organization can be found on our Outreach Board in the Narthex. 

We also keep a grocery cart by the Outreach Board in the Narthex for donations to the local food pantry that are picked up weekly.  We maintain a well stocked Little Free Library that is available to the public.

Much of our outreach can be seen in the incredible work that our local WELCA group does; such as making quilts and care kits for LWR (Lutheran World Relief). To learn more about what they do, you can go to their page here.
